If you are like thousands of computer users out there, mini PC (or mini desktop) would be a god-send. It not only saves you precious space, most of the time, it is elegantly designed and is very portable.
A mini PC is a small desktop computer, sometimes small enough to fit to the size of your palm. However, do not let the size of the mini PCs mislead you. It can still be as powerful as most full sized desktop PCs out there in the market.
Another reason for its growing popularity today is becase of its power efficiency. Mini PC generally consumes around 20+W under normal load, that means it consumes around 10 times lesser power than a typical desktop, and also less than most notebooks. It is therefore one of the greenest PC solutions avialable.
With its powerful processing capabilities, there is no reasons why one would choose a typical desktop computer over a mini PC, if one does not have the intentions to add on other expansion cards for example.
Many businesses have switched over to the mini PC as well, because of the savings in power and space. Being portable has been given another meaning. Office staff can bring their mini PCs home, plug into their home monitor, keyboard and mouse, and they do all their work at home, without all the messy synchronization!
